Pleased to announce that we will be an Exhibitor at Yarndale in September. It is open from 10am to 5.30pm on Saturday 28th, and 10am to 4.30pm on Sunday 29th.
Last year on our stand was our hand dyed yarn, dyed only with natural dyes - no exceptions! We also had a selection of other yarn related products including handmade yarn bowls, storage bags and cases from muud and Thread & Maple, Laine books and magazines together with hand-woven Welsh blankets.
The Yarndale Show celebrates the brilliance of yarn in all its forms. The show features over 200 exhibitors from all over the UK and beyond, showcasing a wide range of yarns, fibres, accessories, and finished products. Whether you're looking for hand-dyed wool, luxury yarns, artisan yarns, or vintage-inspired yarns, you're sure to find something to suit your tastes and budget. Keen to encourage and inspire creativity in everyone, Yarndale works with an extensive mix of enthusiastic exhibitors, tutors and speakers to showcase the pleasure of making the beautiful yarns, threads and textiles on offer.
The show is designed to encourage everyone to share ideas, celebrate all things handmade and generally get creative with yarn. Every aspect of the yarn journey is represented, from the woolly animals themselves, through the various stages of production to the beautiful, finished products.
Our hand dyed yarn is dyed in small batches from Welsh and UK yarn together with some specialty fibres. All our hand dyed yarn is dyed with natural dyes only, there are no exceptions!
We have been hand dyeing yarn with natural dyes for over ten years and now offer Natural Dye Workshops to learn how to hand dye yarn with natural dyes. Recently, the Knitter Magazine featured an article about hand dyed yarn at FelinFach and the tutor of Natural Dye Workshops.
By using quality natural fibre and sourcing ethically produced natural dyes, we are able to produce beautiful hand dyed yarn. The colours from naturally dyed yarn are enthralling. Hand dyed yarns may be repeated but they can never be exactly the same. The natural dyeing process will depend on where the dyestuff was grown, how and when it was harvested, the fibres being dyed, and the method of application we use. All our hand dyed yarn will be 'on show' at Wonderwool Wales.
Complementing our hand dyed yarn, we have handmade ceramic yarn bowls and leading brands in the knitting, crochet and crafting world, such as Cocoknits, Cohana, LYKKE, muud and Thread and Maple. Also available are knitting, crafting and crochet books and magazines from world leading publishers, such as Faire and Laine.
Launched in January 2010, the Campaign for Wool brings together leading figures from the fashion industry, interior design, wool carpet manufacturers as well as the world of insulation and building.
Since its launch in 2010, The Campaign for Wool has influenced a new demand for wool on an international scale. Its efforts have seen an outstanding threefold increase in the price farmers receive for their wool.
FelinFach has been an official supporter of the worldwide Campaign for Wool for many years and is listed on the Campaign's official supporter's web page. FelinFach is committed to the responsible sourcing of British wool and always looking for environmentally friendly yarn. Sheep wool is a fantastic resource for all wool clothing. Because of the properties of wool, it can be used in other ways, such as sheep wool insulation for buildings, duvets and bed covers.
We clean up after ourselves. Like other ecommerce companies, all our deliveries have a carbon footprint, ranging from small to large, which we are reducing to zero. That's why we support cutting-edge companies that remove carbon from the air. Together with Shopify Planet, we help to fund carbon removal to ensure that we remove as much carbon as our deliveries generate.
Our FelinFach Forest is modest but growing. Working with Tree Nation, we plant one tree for every product ordered from our website. Planting trees has been proven to be one of the most efficient solutions to fight Climate Change. Thanks to our reforestation and conservation projects we help to restore forests, create jobs, support local communities and protect biodiversity.
