Learn how to hand dye protein fibres (animal fibres such as sheep wool, alpaca, yak and silk) or cellulose fibres (plant fibres such as cotton, linen, hemp and bamboo) using natural dyes only - no synthetic dyes.
The craft courses and workshops are a hands-on learning experience using ancient natural dyes such as Madder, Weld, and Cochineal, to name a few, in their natural form as well as extract. You will leave with the knowledge to successfully dye yarn and fabrics with lasting colour to use in your projects at home.
Start your natural dyeing journey here, in the rural SA37 postcode area of Pembrokeshire. We are near to the villages of Boncath and Crymych and the coastal towns of Newport and Cardigan of West Wales. Once you have enrolled on a course, we will send you a map well before the course to help you find us!!
It really is rural and looking over the fence, here are our neighbours - can be a little noisy but are friendly.

All our craft courses and workshops are held in our purpose designed and self-contained FelinFach Dye Studio. We also use the Dye Studio to hand dye all the yarn, cotton, silk and wool scarves that are for sale on our website. Perhaps it doesn't need to be said again, but just in case we only use natural dye colours - no synthetic dyes are used.
