Hand tied and dyed Silk Scarf

A beautiful 100% silk shawl in a dot design that has been hand-tied by skilled Bandhani artisans of India. The term `Bandhani` is derived from the word `Bandhan` that means tying up. This is an ancient art found in records dating back to 4000 B.C. 

Each dot is the result of creating a tied resist to the fabric by tightly wrapping thread, slip knotting the peak and moving to the next dot on the fabric using a continuous piece of thread to create the finished resist pattern. 

The shawl was hand dyed using natural dye at the FelinFach studio and all knots removed to reveal the design.
