Botanical ink, handmade in Pembrokeshire, Wales, UK.
The ink used to write the Magna Carta. From the Middle Ages to the 19th century, iron gall ink was one of the most frequently made and used inks in Europe. Our Oak Gall ink is made using a medieval recipe and oak galls foraged from the trees in our garden. Writing with this ink is a lovely experience, the ink will be a lovely grey at first but within a few minutes develops to an intense dark black.
This ink is great on its own, would be great with sap green but would look good with any of the ink colours.
