The Dye Studio and Craft Courses
Located in the SA37 postcode area of north Pembrokeshire, Wales, our purpose designed dye studio can take up to 5 students at any one time and each student has their individual work station. We hold our natural dyeing courses from February to November each year.
Workshops will guide you through the basic principles, theory and practice of traditional natural dyeing using professional natural dye extracts, for example, madder, cutch, logwood and others. The workshop includes includes all the necessary materials, including yarn, cellulose fibres and equipment including aprons and gloves.
You will take away from the workshop a number of skeins of yarn or cellulose fibres that you have personally dyed. You will also have your Dye Journal Notebook and a file of information covering what you have learnt during the day. You will also be entitled to Post Workshop email support.
Expert tuition in a professional, purpose designed dye studio environment. All the yarn and scarves for sale on this website have been hand dyed with natural dyes by the Tutor of these courses. There is a beauty and depth of colour to natural dye that becomes more beautiful with age. Hand dyed colours, dyed with natural dyes may be repeated but they can never be exactly the same - part of the beauty of a handmade product!
