Wax melts are a wickless candle or a flameless candle that are warmed in a wax melt burner as opposed to being lit with a match. Wax melt burners can be a flame-less electric wax melt warmer or a traditional wax melt burner, (see image below) where the wax is warmed by tealights. Follow these steps to discover how to use wax melts.
Once the wax melts are warmed to a liquid, they release their fragrance. As soon as you extinguish the tealight (or switch off the electric warmer), the wax will harden, and the fragrance will end. After a number of hours, the wax melts will lose their fragrance and can be replaced with a new wax melt
A Candle Chandler? - "a handmade maker and seller of tallow, wax candles, and also usually soap". A chandlery was originally the office in a wealthy medieval household responsible for wax, candles and soaps as well as the room in which the candles were kept.
We are a modern-day candle chandler, hand pouring candles using traditional methods and skills but also other fragrance items such as reed diffusers, soy wax tealights and wax melts.
Wax melts are a wickless candle. They’re handmade using our eco-friendly soy wax and beautiful fragrance oils. However, there is no wick in a wax melt, and you don’t directly light a wax melt. Wax melts are warmed to melt the wax and when this has been achieved, the wax releases its fragrances, just like a candle.
To melt a wax melt you’re going a wax melt burner or an electric wax melt warmer. Put your wax melt in the dish on top of your burner and turn on your electric wax warmer, or if you’re more traditional, light your tealight and place it in the bottom of your burner. The heat, be it electric, or flame, will begin to melt your wax and fragrance will consequently be released into the room.
When you've had enough of your wax melt, you simply turn off your electric burner or blow out the tealight (we recommend using a wick snuffer for safety) and you can allow the wax to harden before using again. Once your wax starts to lose its scent you simply remove and replace with fresh wax melt.
Wax melts do not evaporate. Your quantity of wax will always remain the same, but the fragrance will disperse, and the intensity will lessen with each burn. You can usually get a few burns out of your wax melt depending on the strength of the scent and how long you burn your melts for each time.
