Named after Y Wladfa (the Welsh settlement in Patagonia celebrating it's 150 anniversary in 2015) the traditional home of the Alpaca. The blankets are woven traditionally using skills of yesteryear - no mass production here and have a super soft finish ("Meddal" means soft in Welsh)
From fleece to blanket at one mill. The fleece was sourced from Somerset a British product from start to finish.
Alpaca fleece can be light or heavy in weight, depending on how it is spun - these are the soft finish. It is a soft, durable, luxurious and silky natural fibre. While similar to sheep's wool, it is warmer, not prickly, and has no lanolin, which makes it hypoallergenic. Alpaca is naturally water-repellent.
