Yarn Weight Chart

The term 'yarn weight' refers to the thickness of yarn and not the actual weight of the yarn on a weighing scales. The yarn weight gives you an idea of the size of the knitting needles you need for your project. Knowing the yarn weight is important as it affects the final look and feel of your knitting project.

We have the following yarn weights in our Hand Dyed Yarn Collection;

• 2 Ply, also known as Lace Weight, are extremely fine and delicate, perfect for creating intricate lace patterns in shawls, lightweight scarves, and heirloom pieces.
• 4 Ply, popular for socks and other fine-knit garments. They provide a good balance between delicacy and strength.
• DK (Double Knitting), versatile light weight yarns used for a wide range of projects, including cardigans, sweaters and blankets.
• Aran, great for knitting warmer garments and cosy accessories. They are thicker than DK yarns

FelinFach Hand Dyed Yarns

Our hand dyed yarn is dyed in small batches from Welsh and UK yarn together with some specialty fibres. Each batch is hand dyed in Pembrokeshire, Wales, UK using natural dyes. We do not 'buy in' any dyed yarn for resale.
