Natural candles are candles that are made with natural plant-based waxes such as soy, coconut and rapeseed waxes. Natural candles are a healthier and an eco-friendlier alternative to traditional candles, which are often made with paraffin wax, a petroleum byproduct. Natural candles are non-toxic and release no harmful pollutants into the air. They are also sustainable candles, biodegradable and compostable, making them an eco-friendlier choice than traditional candles.
Our handmade candles are hand poured by us in Pembrokeshire in small batches. Our candles are made from,
We use plant-based candle waxes such as soy, coconut and rapeseed waxes. We do not use paraffin, palm oil or beeswax.
No dyes, colourants or any additives are added to our plant-based candle waxes. The colours of our candle wax are simply the natural colours of the wax and fragrances.
We use wood wicks wherever possible. If wood wicks are not the best solution, we use eco-friendly, lead-free, braided cotton wicks. Each candle describes the wicks that are used. Lastly, all packaging is plastic free.
Environmentally Friendly: Sustainable candles are made using eco-friendly materials and practices, which makes them an environmentally friendly option. They do not release harmful chemicals or toxins into the air and are made using renewable and biodegradable materials.
Non-toxic: Sustainable candles are made using natural ingredients that are non-toxic and safe for you and your family. They do not emit harmful chemicals or fumes like paraffin wax candles do.
Longer Burning Time: Sustainable candles tend to have a longer burning time than paraffin wax candles. This is because they have a lower melting point and burn more slowly.
Better Fragrance: Sustainable candles are often scented using natural essential oils, which provide a cleaner and more natural fragrance than synthetic fragrances.
Paraffin wax is the most common type of wax used in candles because it is inexpensive, easy to work with, and produces a clean burn. It is a white, odourless, and tasteless wax that is solid at room temperature.
We also believe that paraffin wax candles are not as healthy as candles made from plant-based waxes. This is because paraffin wax is a byproduct of the petroleum industry, and it may contain harmful chemicals. Lastly and not least, paraffin is not a renewable or sustainable resource.
We do not use paraffin wax in any of our candles.
Beeswax is an animal product that is made from the waxy secretions of honeybees. Unlike paraffin, it is renewable and sustainable as it comes from the honeycomb of bees. In addition, it doesn’t soot or releases harmful chemicals when burned.
We do not use beeswax in any of our candles.
Coconut wax is a natural, sustainable, and biodegradable wax made from coconut oil. It is a hard wax with a high melting point, making it ideal for candles. Coconut wax candles burn clean and evenly, with a long-lasting burn time. They are also free of toxins and carcinogens, making them a healthier choice.
Rapeseed wax is a natural wax made from the seeds of the rapeseed plant. It is a renewable resource and is a sustainable alternative to paraffin wax. Rapeseed wax has a high melting point, which makes it ideal for container candles. It also has a low smoke point, which makes it a safe choice for candles. Rapeseed wax is also a good choice for candles because it is non-toxic and biodegradable.
Soy wax is a vegetable wax made from the oil of soybeans. It is a renewable and sustainable resource, and it is biodegradable. Soy wax is also non-toxic and hypoallergenic, making it a safe choice for people with allergies or sensitivities.
Soy wax candles are known for their clean burning and long-lasting qualities. They also have a soft, creamy texture that makes them a pleasure to use.
It is always important to treat your 3 wick candles safely and with care. Please note the follow candle care advice...
