We live and work in a beautiful and environmentally sensitive part of Wales. The Pembrokeshire Coast National Park and the Preseli Mountains are both nearby. It is natural for us to care how our business impacts on the environment, both locally and internationally. We are always looking to reduce plastic waste, become plastic free and to improve the sustainability of our business. Regarding our definition of sustainability, our four priority aims relate to Plastic Freedom, Shipping, Packaging and Products.
There are different versions of a sustainability definition, but the United Nations defined sustainability as “fulfilling the needs of current generations without compromising the needs of future generations, while ensuring a balance between economic growth, environmental care and social well-being". This is the definition we follow.
All electricity consumed by FelinFach since 2020 is from 100% renewable energy, from UK windfarms - powered supplied by Scottish Power. Firstly, let's say it up front - no carbon emissions are better than buying carbon offsets to cover whatever emissions a company has. Going 100% renewable reduces our carbon emissions and also reduces our need to buy offsets.
In 2021, we partnered with Tree Nation to play our part in global reforestation. As a result, we plant one tree for every product purchased - five purchases in one order is five trees planted! Our forest, the FelinFach Forest, can be viewed here... click here...
Our company is located in Pembrokeshire, Wales. Our ethos is defined in the three words, NATURAL TRADITIONAL HANDMADE.
We are a proud supporter of the Campaign for Wool, All Things Wales, Global Welsh and Red Dragon America.
