Our Treftadaeth Collection names its blankets as is a celebration of Welsh heritage, either in remembrance of an event or maybe a person that shaped the Country we have become. It also celebrates Wales’ woollen industry and weaving history.
Travelling around Wales by any means of transport and you will see sheep in most parts of the country. According to recent census figures, there are over 10 million welsh sheep compared to 3 million people, a 3 to 1 ratio (3 sheep for every 1 person in Wales) or a third of all UK sheep
Wales is famous for its Welsh wool industry and its blankets and throws and in particular, the iconic Welsh tapestry blankets from its early history to modern times. They are showcased in the National Wool Museum of Wales in the Teifi Valley. The museum is a National Heritage Site.
