FelinFach Dye Studio

FelinFach Dye Studio is based in a 200 year old former flour mill in the Preseli area of Pembrokeshire, Wales, UK. In our purpose designed dye studio in we hand dye yarn, cotton, silk and wool scarves all with natural dye colours. No synthetic dyes are used.

Our hand dyed yarn is produced from the finest UK yarns with 100% natural dyes. By using excellent quality natural fibre, including locally sourced Welsh yarn as well as British yarn, and by sourcing botanical natural plant dye extracts, we are able to produce beautiful naturally dyed yarn, cotton and other fabrics. The colours from natural dyes in general and also in natural plant dyes are enthralling, each will depend on where the dyestuff was grown, how it was harvested, the fibres being dyed, and the method of application we use.

It takes time, knowledge and patience but we love what we are able to do at the Dye Studio and hope that this comes through in the hand dyed skeins of yarn. Have a browse through the hand dyed yarns available and know that your project will be one of a kind. Hand dyed with natural dyes may be repeated but they can never be exactly the same - part of the beauty of a handmade product!

Natural Dye Workshops

We also hold Natural Dye Workshops and Courses for beginners and advanced students in the FelinFach Dye Studio. All the yarn and scarves for sale on this website have been hand dyed with natural dyes by the Tutor of these workshops. Course students learn how to hand dye yarn or to develop their skills in a relaxing friendly environment. There is a beauty and depth of colour to natural dye that becomes more beautiful with age. Hand dyed colours, dyed with natural dyes may be repeated but they can never be exactly the same - part of the beauty of a handmade product!
