FelinFach is going to the Cardiff Craft Festival in November 2019. Whilst FelinFach is primarily an on-line Shop which is 'open' 24/7, every day of the year, it also visits numerous festivals and craft fairs, all over the UK.
Formerly, Made by Hand, Cardiff, Cardiff Craft Festival is the finest contemporary craft event in Wales. It is held at the iconic City Hall, Cardiff which is located in the heart of Cardiff’s civic centre. It is an area of impressive buildings, landscaped gardens and broad tree-lined avenues. A mere 'stones throw' from Cardiff castle, it is also within walking distance of Cardiff's top shopping, hotel and restaurant locations and of course its international rugby stadium.
This majestic building offers a spacious venue for this festival. It will feature over 135 makers of highest quality selling directly to the public. The 135 plus makers will be showing a wide variety of top quality handmade products. These products include ceramics to leather, glass to metal and pottery to textiles, and many more. Plus there are workshops for adults and children, lectures, demonstrations, live music and a cafe. Adult workshops must be booked in advance. For full details go to www.craftfestival.co.uk .
To become an exhibitor, all craftsmen/women have to apply and have their products judged. Their products need to be of a suitable quality, to be handmade and not mass produced. Accordingly, FelinFach is proud to be selected (for the second year running) to be an exhibitor in the textiles category. FelinFach's handmade products and its unique designs in Welsh blankets are well known and well respected by the industry. We will be showing our naturally hand dyed yarn, hand dyed cotton, silk and wool scarves, handmade books and bags and many other handmade products. We also have a range of Welsh blankets designed by and unique to FelinFach, including the iconic Welsh Tapestry Blankets.
For information, the opening times of the Show are 10.00am to 5.00pm on Friday and Saturday (1st and 2nd November and 10.00am to 4.00pm on Sunday 43rd November. Cardiff City Hall is in Cathays Park, Cardiff, CF10 3ND.
Looking forward to seeing you there.
Our first major event of the year will be at the Bradford on Avon Food & Drink Festival on 1st June 2019. Bradford on Avon is a town and civil parish in west Wiltshire, UK , with a population of 9,402 at the 2011 census. The town is popular with tourists with it's canal, historic buildings, shops, pubs and restaurants. Whilst the history of the town can be traced back to Roman times, the town itself grew due to the thriving woollen textile industry. It still has several textile industry buildings dating from the 17th century.
At this Bradford Food and Drink Festival, there will be an impressive line-up of celebrity chefs and artisan food producers. They are already booked in to ensure that this inaugural summer event launches in style. We have linked up with Humble Country Events who have been asked to create the Humble Country Village. This will provide the perfect opportunity for the home and food loving visitors to shop for their homes and gardens.
Our Exhibition Stand will be in the Humble Country Events Village marquee. We will be showcasing the whole range of FelinFach products. These include Welsh blankets, Welsh tapestry blankets, throws and cushions. We will also have our full range of hand dyed yarn, silk, cotton and merino wool scarves and hand bound notebooks. We also have the following future events booked in to our schedule. Please keep an eye out for new events as they are added on this page.
Comments will be approved before showing up.
Our Treftadaeth Collection names its blankets as is a celebration of Welsh heritage, either in remembrance of an event or maybe a person that shaped the Country we have become. It also celebrates Wales’ woollen industry and weaving history.
The longest place name in the world? In its shorted form, this little town of Llanfairpwllgwyngyll is situated on Ynys Mon (the island of Anglesey) in north Wales. It is situated near to the bridge, Pont Britannia which connects mainland Wales to the island of Anglesey over the Menai Strait.
Customers regularly ask us two questions. Either, can I have this blanket with a fringes finish, or can I have this blanket with a blanket stitch finish? The simple answer to both questions, in most cases, is Yes! If you tell us what you require, we can usually do either finish.
