Most of us in Wales know that we have a connection with Patagonia in Argentina without knowing any details. When we received an order for a Welsh blanket from a customer in Patagonia, we thought we better look it up!
We checked the internet and we have found that our Welsh ancestors first arrived in Argentina in 1865. The main reason for the long journey was to protect their own culture and language, which they felt was at risk in their homeland – sort of similar to today!
Today it is estimated that around 5,000 - 12,000 people speak Welsh as their first language, with a further 25,000 speaking it as their second language.
Today FelinFach has sent a Welsh woollen blanket, an Enfys blanket, to a customer in Patagonia which makes this customer the furthest away from Wales… so far! We are proud to send a Welsh wool blanket to Patagonia and we hope that the customer is very pleased with it.
